Researchers from Kyoto University and Japanese company Sumitomo Forestry announced on Tuesday that they have completed construction of the world's first wooden satellite.

It is a cube-shaped satellite measuring 10 centimeters on each side and weighing about one kilogram, made of magnolia wood panels 4 to 5.5 millimeters thick, with a structure made partially of aluminum.
