My mom told me that sometimes it's hard to discipline things like this with little kids because they're too funny and adorable to keep a straight face, while doing it.
She's definitely right.
Absolutely. That’s why I don’t mind for her to have one thing. Especially if the intention is to be funny and make everyone laugh as opposed to being mean.
The other day she had her brother doing animal impressions with her and she asked me if I could “sound like a cat”? I said “of course, meeeeow” and she said “ummm that doesn’t sound like a cat that sounds like an old daddy cat”

Our daughter is definitely just trying to be funny. She hasn't discovered being mean yet.
She can be quite disagreeable and mischievous, so being mean will probably come about eventually.

How is her dance class going?
Our daughter had her end of season recital for dance yesterday which was good timing that it was before my wife’s surgery. We were a bit concerned it would be next weekend and she wouldn’t be able to go.
The recital was a lot of fun.

We didn't renew after the first quarter. She was struggling to stay engaged through the entire class. We asked her if she wanted to keep doing dance class and she said "no".
We're thinking t-ball might be a good next venture, but that's next summer. We'll also look into martial arts in the winter. She's been practicing moves that she saw on Power Rangers, which is about as cute as can be.
Whenever kids start doing track and field, I'm really curious how she'll take to that. She loves running and racing. Even her preschool teacher remarked about how fast she is compared to the other kids.
I'm glad things worked out to let you all go to the recital.

Best to let them try a lot of different things. My daughter didn’t take well to gymnastics. Maybe she would do better now but when she was smaller she didn’t feel confident walking across the beams and jumping off of stuff. Now when I take her to the park she wants to climb on rocks and jump off things so I am guessing she just had to grow into it and if we tried gymnastics again she would probably like it.

Gymnastics is also under consideration. We have a balance beam that our daughter likes using and she definitely likes jumping off of stuff.
I think gymnastics is probably still a bit too structured for where she’s at, though.
