In the central reef, the declines seen in 2012 and 2016 were due to natural events, namely Cyclone Yasi in 2012 and El Niño in 2016

This notion that global warming will cause corals to die is very untrue
Pretty sure someone mentioned diversity is way down and this particular easy to grow and die type is bad news

I have seen bleached, dead coral reefs with my own eyes. It's a horrific site and very sad what humans have done to Gods creation. I can't say how statistically widespread it is, maybe some species can move to places that were a few degrees cooler before. But overall this cannot be a good thing.
