By using crypto to pay for everyday items, you actually increase adoption rather than just stacking SATs. In fact, you can argue IT TAKES MONEY AWAY from Visa, MasterCard and Stripe etc. In general, it's working together to kill the current system.
It has a purpose. It helps to be flexible if vendors don't accept LN or liquid or whatever next layer. If I was a vendor, I'd only accept BTC on-chain, and not LN. For the average user, they may not want to pay the on-chain fee which can run up to $25+. Food for thought.
