DNC and Hillary Clinton were fined by FEC for funding the Steele dossier. Hillary called it a legal expense.
It was falsifying records in furtherance of a crime.
Of course there is no underlying crime that he has been convicted of and the jury was not even required to agree on what that crime might have been.
Those are terrible jury instructions
I have heard a couple different versions.
- The payment to stormy was a campaign finance violation
- Payment to his lawyer Michael Cohen was listed as a legal expense which was a false record
- Payment to stormy was a conspiracy to interfere with 2016 election
These charges should be a misdemeanor assuming a crime was committed.
The 34 counts refer to him writing legal expense 34 times
WSJ:
Trump became the first former president ever convicted of a crime, with a Manhattan jury finding him guilty of falsifying records to cover up hush money paid to a porn star.
The jury didn't have your problem.
Being Republican and trying to represent the will of the people.
Can anyone explain what the crime is?
Literally all I know is that Trump had Stormy Daniels sign NDA and paid her for it. I don't actually understand what law has been broken here?
