For Riot this is an easy win win. Since they hold almost 10% of Bitfarms already if this hostile takeover offer triggers someone else to jump in to buy them then bam bidding war and you (Riot) can bid up to what you think the equipment and location are worth before either acquiring it or reaping the rewards of selling. Pretty great business move if you are asking me.
This helps set them up for the long haul as Riot's numbers have continued to perform while Bitfarm hasn't and is currently in a pretty significant CEO battle. Either way Riot will be able to not only get rid of this problem in its investment with either equipment or cash.
