A Little Girl's Bad Dream

Our daughter told us that she had a bad dream last night. Naturally, we wanted to know what happened.
At first all she told us was that "The pigs ran away". Since we don't have any pigs, some follow up questions were warranted.
"Were you a farmer?" "No"
"Were you the big bad wolf?" (sometimes she identifies with the villains in stories) "No"
After a bit more detective work, it turned out her bad dream was that the characters of The Three Little Pigs had run away from the book, so she couldn't read it.
Talk about a nightmare scenario for fans of literature.

Very imaginative. Interesting that she identifies with the villains in stories. My daughter has a whole fantasy world she has concocted that is inhabited by chicks and the chicks are identified by what colour they are (green chick, red chick etc). They all live in a place called chick city and she tells me these wild tales that usually end up in a lot of mischief.
She used to try to blame "the chicks" when she was naughty but we put a stop to that real quick. Imagination is great, not taking responsibility for your actions, not so great.

I love it. We've had variants of that, too.
I think our daughter first identified with Mayor Humdinger on Paw Patrol, because he's by far the best character, despite being the villain. It seems like the villains on kids shows are often the most fun. Since they can't really be that evil, they tend to be very mischievous.

It's a great little piece of writing! I would suggest you to collect such short stories and form a book out of them.
Think about it seriously. You definitely have a very creative writer in you. The way you narrate stories is amazing and seem very professional.

Most of her stories are about the Paw Patrol characters, but we manage to get some literature in there.

For a moment I thought, I wish these were the type of nightmares that happen to me, but then I thought about it for a minute and it must really be disturbing to see how 3 pigs get out or escape from a book hahaha my question is, did the pigs get out? In cartoon form or did they look real when they came out of the book?

Good question. I would guess they were cartoon pigs, because her exposure to real pigs is very limited.

I've had similar episodes with my daughter, and it's amazing and wonderful to hear her stories of imagination. and missing those dreams and our overloaded mind does not produce those kinds of dreams.

Truly amazing! J can relate this story to some of mine when I was a kid. J used to drive a lot of cars in the sky. So that was my flying moment in my dreams.
