Keep in mind that this is a business network. Here's a quote from our favorite Senator:
Grocery prices are up because of good old-fashioned corporate price gouging,” Warren said. “And they can gouge consumers on prices because there’s only a small number of companies controlling every level of the food chain."
But don't worry. CNBC has a solution:
To get the most out of grocery store trips, experts say it’s best to have a strategy.
“It’s a good opportunity to create smart shopping habits,” Bodge said.
Where possible, consumers can shift their purchasing habits — to eat at home rather than dine out, or buy chicken instead of beef — to limit the effects of rising costs, Hamrick said.
“There is a range of opportunities to make choices and to substitute at lower prices and to get better value,” Hamrick said.
Soon they will be suggesting fasting as a great strategy to mitigate food inflation. Once they learn of the potential health benefits of fasting the CDC will roll out a weekly 48 hour fast recommendation. Imagine the savings when you only eat 5 out of 7 days.

Ahh! fasting, sure! As an Indian, I can say this is the best of best strategy. Due to my religious faith, I can fast every day. In every month, we have every day reserved for different dieties across the week.
Also, I can now understand that this may well be the one reason why India is relatively less costly for serving one plate of food.

You jest, but why not take advantage of crazy food prices to adopt some healthy habits?
reply
Me jest? Never.
Don't get me wrong, when I was typing my jesting response I was thinking it wouldn't be half bad if a lot of Americans ate a bit less.

Amazing that corporations just now became greedy, but were all uninterested in maximizing profits just a year or two ago, according to the world's most retarded politician Elizabeth Warren.

It's always the same story and the same scapegoats. I remember reading about this BS in "When Money Dies" about the Weimar Republic.

Every "news" piece I've seen on groceries lists these same decades-old tips that I can't imagine anyone doesn't know. Generic is cheaper than brand name? Chicken's cheaper than beef? Dining out costs more than cooking? Who knew?

It doesnt fix the problem of price gouging. Anyone remember an egg shortage ever happening when they were a kid? I dont. Im sure everyone has their fingers in the pie.

If corporations didn't "gouge" prices (whatever that means), nobody would be producing anything in the country and people would be lining up for less nutritious chicken in long lines on the street.

Making choices for food! What a joke! I mean if we have to make choices due to some companies gouging. Also these tips for buying groceries, lol, thank God, we don't make such choices and strategies before gng to a store.

May be in a few years, we will be having a subject 'Grocerology', so as to teach everyone from early days to cope with the problems one can face while buying food.
It's weird to know that they've penned down strategies for shopping. I've never had any strategic shopping ever in my life. For grocery, not at all!
Also idk but may India doesn't require such strategic plannings for grocery shopping! I'm lucky, maybe!

No guarantee that what you buy is "real food" with or without a strategy.
