I think this highlights a huge flaw in the arbitration issue facing players in baseball. It will be interesting to see if this story going public changes how some of the best relievers are deployed and if they take the same path that Hader has paved.

They always pull this kind of stuff. They dont want to pay their players, yet they want to keep them under contract.
Its a huge catch 22 esp with pitchers because they hurt their arm its going to be a year plus before they can return and even then really 2 years before they are up to "full strength". Batters since the juice ball a few years ago we have seen esp with the like of Marwin Gonzalaz, Kris Bryant, and Javiar Biaz the effects that ball had and how they took their teams to the try cleaners

Yeah I remember when he was used in high-leverage situations in Milwaukee but then it stopped and now this makes sense
I dont fault him for putting those conditions on his contract.
That’s interesting. I think Hader is a bit of a unique case being a top closer in the game for years but I could definitely see guys in a similar situation take the same path and making restrictions on their usage.
