I am in a crypto chat group. Most, if pressed a little, know Bitcoin is superior. Most know shitcoins trend to zero when compared to Bitcoin. Yet, they don't care. They are just there for the promises of quick-riches and 100x in case their coin pumps. It's like gambling and they know it.
So first thing is, acknowledge and accept that fact. It's ok for them to chase that promise. Most likely they'll get rekt at some point.
Just lead by example. People never change their mind when being told. Have you ever met a Trumper changing his mind on his grift after listening to someone with Trump Derangement Symptom? Have you ever met a Biden supporter acknowledge the double standards the main stream media protect him with when reporting on him instead of Trump? No. You do not convince someone by telling them they're wrong.
As someone else said, give it time. And show how much better off you are by not shitcoining. They'll come around if they're supposed it. If not, you'll just waste your time.
And as a last remark: don't become that annoying guy whose life fully revolves around Bitcoin and annoys everyone with it. Bitcoin is a nice tool. That's it. Focus on the important things, whatever they are for you.
After this rant, here some practical tips though. Depending on their background, show them something from
  • Andreas Antonopoulos, if they have some technical abilities. Videos mostly, maybe his book on Bitcoin.
  • Lynn Alden, if they want to believe they can predict the future by analyzing macrotrends. Her book, or her recent video on why money is broken,.
  • Saifedean, if they're brain dead idiots who want to join a cult. Any of his books, it's just recycling the same stuff over and over again.
  • Alex Gladstein, if they want to fight injustice in the world. Check your financial privilege book.
I'm being a bit tongue-in-cheek here with some of my descriptions, but you get my point, I hope.
