My recollection is that tunneling isn’t about motion, but rather about uncertainty in position.
The probability wave goes to zero in the barrier and becomes positive again on the other side.
Didn’t know you were into quantum physics.

I didn't take any astrophysics and I actually think Relativity is quite a bit weirder than Quantum Mechanics.
My area focus was atmospheric physics.
