Howdy Stackers!!
Greatness is a concept of a state of superiority affecting a person or object in a particular place or area. Greatness can also be attributed to individuals who possess a natural ability to be better than all others.
With this thought back in my mind, I feel how most people view players as the greatest sports personality of all-time for the accomplishments like championships among the best of them.
There has always been a lot of debate about who the greatest sportsperson is. There are the prominent names that are at the top of the conversation. Those names are the likes of Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Pelle, Bolt etc.
But, then it seemed a far cry to judge someone as the GOAT of sports considering how many championships he won. I hear @BlokchainB asking #543344 for a broader definition of the GOATs in sports. After all many sports are team games and GOATs may sometimes find themselves into a much weaker team.
But again, there are many sports which are played as singles like Swimming or Tennis.
Federer's never retired mid-match (in over 1300 matches over a 19 year career. Need we say more? Hand down, he is unarguably the best of all time and he can never be replaced. So, is he the GOAT of GOATs? No, this isn't enough.
So, what's the special Mojo that can confirm the GOAT of GOATs debate? I think it should be based on a comparison among the same sports players. We should highly value the difference of deviations better than others. By this, I can only imagine one name and I'm sure it's gonna win your hearts.
Sir Donald Bradman is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) of sporting GOATs. All cricket lovers accept the great Australian is the greatest batsman of all time but how many are aware he was 9 standard deviations better than the next best 166 batsmen of all time!
So, for me Sir Donald Bradman is the GOAT of GOATs across all sports.
Curiously waiting to know who is your GOAT of GOATs of all times?
