I don't know if there are any Don DeLillo fans on SN. Count me as one. I know there are baseball fans here. I will never forget the first time I read this. The chapter was printed in The New Yorker before the novel was published.
This is a magical baseball moment brilliantly captured by a great writer.

That's surely a great read. I'm learning a little baseball and because I'm trying to make Cricket popular there, I must learn about baseball as gesture of gratitude.

Great read. I love me some DeLillo, and love how the '60s - '80s gave us all these literary giants -- DeLillo, Pynchon, Oates, Auster, Rushdie -- who all seem to embrace some form of "low" pop culture (sports, movies, etc).

Hadn't read this before. Incredible way to capture one of the most icon moments in baseball history.
