BREAKING: Millennium Management discloses ~$2B in Bitcoin ETF holdings
Yesterday was the quarterly 13F filing deadline day.
And it’s been revealed that international hedge fund Millennium Management has bought close to $2 billion in Bitcoin ETFs.
Here’s a breakdown of their holdings:
  • BlackRock’s IBIT: $844.2 million
  • Fidelity’s FBTC: $806.7 million
  • Grayscale’s GBTC: $202 million
  • Ark’s ARKB: $45 million
  • Bitwise’s BITB: $44.7 million
This makes Millennium the largest individual holder of IBIT & FBTC.
Currently Millennium has $69 billion in assets under management.
Which makes their Bitcoin investment ~2.9% of their total assets.
The 13F filings also revealed what kind of investors are purchasing the Bitcoin ETFs.
The list of BlackRock’s holder type includes:
  • Hedge Fund Manager
  • Investment Advisor
  • Private Equity
  • Pension Fund
  • Brokerage
  • Bank
  • Trust
  • Insurance Company
  • Holding Company
  • Family Office/Trust
New ETF launches don’t normally see such a wide array of investor types. Just another stat to show how successful the Bitcoin ETFS been…
Keep in mind, big institutions & asset managers take ages to allocate toward a new asset class.
Everything we have seen so far is extremely encouraging for the actual BTC holders.
As I keep saying:
Slowly at first, then all at once.

Anyone that truly wants mass adoption has to realize it’s not going to happen without the ETFs. Baby-steps.
They are the metric I trust to show me where we are at in that goal. Right now anyways.
reply
Merchant adoption is what I'm watching.
reply
Well, now I feel stupid. The people follow the Merchants usually.
reply
Don't feel stupid. We get jaded, because we are here, but we are so freaking early. Want proof?
The commencement speaker who delivered an outlandish speech, which he wrote while on ayahuasca, to Ohio State University graduates called himself the “most misunderstood person” days after he claimed bitcoin was a “misunderstood asset class” — to resounding boos.
reply
I think he’s right about the reason for the booing. Even among college students, (whom you would think have the most exposure) they don’t seem to care.
reply
Bookmarked! Will watch at home.
