Yesterday I shared a post on bitcoin ~territory where I asked a hypothetical question about what they would do if someone sent them 10 BTC by mistake, and the post got a lot of engagement.
I was not expecting such a high level of engagement, as it did not seem like a very important question, but in the end, it turned out that the question is important and that stackers do not take these things lightly, because they are the important ones.
I read many interesting and varied responses. Some of the most common answers were 1)- I would send them back to whoever sent them to me by mistake because they are not mine. 2)- I wouldn't send them back to him as a punishment to stop being so careless and learn to verify the address before sending Bitcoins; 3; I would send them back to him, but I would keep a small amount as a punishment for his recklessness with Bitcoins... and so on...
If you asked me, I don't know what I did. It is a difficult decision. I probably would have sent it back too, but not the whole amount. I would have kept a part of it (I don't know how much I would have kept 😂😂) so that he would be aware and not repeat this mistake, not just that he would lose his Bitcoins again, but to show respect for Bitcoin, the blockchain, and Bitcoiners.
