This may be a dumb question since I don't understand the tech. Just this morning I connected my Mutiny Wallet to the android primal app using NWC, and my first zaps were seamless and almost identical to the performance I get with Alby on laptop. Is this a realistic solution for SN zapping? I know @TonyGiorgio didn't sound optimistic when the SN wallet future plans were revealed? I'm just curious. Regardless, Mutiny seems to be a good match with Android primal.

Yeah some people really love it. On amethyst, I use it exclusively and it works. Though yeah after a year I find it annoying and I zap less and less as a result. If I have to think: "Oh, I have to open up my wallet for the 15th time this day just to make this one zap" I just don't do it.
In theory we can do some thing with fedimint to spend in the background from a prefunded balance, though that's probably further out.
I was telling @k00b and @ek last night at bitdevs, I have a love hate relationship with NWC. It works, I use it, but it's a pretty terrible UX from a non-custodial perspective and 99% of people are just going to use other custodians with it anyways, which either means more illegally operating businesses (which are dropping like flies) or everyone is KYC'd. It's not good either way.

I don't want it (SN future Plans) to happen. It would create problems for new and non-tech stackers. Also if they see that their Sats ate merely cash points, they might lose interest.
Now onto your comment, mutiny works seamlessly for sure.

I understand your first point, but I'm not that tech savvy, and it was easier than I expected. Regarding your second point, what do you mean by cash points? Mutiny zaps real sats, unless you're using a federation.
I re-read your point. I guess you meant you don't want SN to change? I certainly understand that, but it's probably not realistic. SN has to deal with the current environment. Non custodial has to be the goal.

Cash points which SN has plans to implement.
I also understand that SN is based in US so much negativity there currently. I just meant that I would rather prefer the current SN custody for the sake of newcomers and non-techy people.
Mutiny is surely promising. Let's see what will work best for SN. I believe SN team is so good that it would definitely implement the best solution.
I'm more of a careless person, so prefer custody. Even my wallet and cards are managed by my family and friend (my assistant technically 😜, my younger brother! He's a Charted Accountant)

Yes. I misunderstood you at first. SN will be issuing those credits only to stackers who do not set up external wallets, so everyone can minimize the amount of credits they deal with.
You're right that things would be better if SN remains as it is now, but the owners need to ensure that the site can keep operating.
We all will probably have to try to make the best of the situation.

Yes, you're right. We have to find positivity in every point.
It isn't all dark though.
Recently, I've got a few people to SN and that all was done in person, face to face. I took SN as a support or opportunity for orange piling them. While most of them are active but I see, as they are all new to Bitcoin, will find it difficult to set up wallets, custodial or noncustodial. But when SN implements noncustodial zapping, I think I will only have to first tell my reference to setup a wallet and that way they would be one step ahead in Bitcoin. Also doing this shouldn't take me more than 2 minutes.
What do you say?

Without adding a federation, zaps don’t send until you return back to the Mutiny wallet. If you’re using a federation, do zaps send automatically (assuming they’re below your auto-approve budget)? Or is the case of needing to go back to the Mutiny app for them to send still how it works?

I have not set up a federation. My mutiny wallet zaps immediately on primal. I don't have to go back to the wallet for each zap.

I was under the impression the nostr event that tells Mutiny to zap gets sent immediately (and then Primal shows it was sent). But the next time you open Mutiny (unless it’s still running in the background, or running on another device), all of those payments actually get sent out (automatically, not needing to approve each one). Maybe I’m mistaken. Will have to test it out again.

You're correct. There is a delay. I'm keeping Mutiny open and it seems to take about 10 minutes. There is no need to confirm each transaction, unlike Alby. I believe a similar delay occurs with SN wallet. We just don't see it.
