When Jane finally contacted the Association, she was connected directly with Barrow after only a very brief wait.
‘Ms Franklin!' said Barrow. ‘I'm so glad you called. The Association couldn’t be happier with the news, and of course you must be excited. You know, of course, that I'm always open to you via teep,’ said Barrow.
‘I don't teep,’ said Jane.
‘Oh my,’ said Barrow, and it seemed as though he was willing to let the conversation end there.
‘About my husband,’ Jane began.
‘Yes, of course. He's well. Healthy. No harm done.’
‘Do you know if...when he will be coming home?’
‘Ah,’ said Barrow. ‘While he is entirely healthy, your husband has been through quite an ordeal. The Association wants to ensure that he has access to every possible support in this time as he re-integrates into society. He has been gone for more than three years.’
‘I see,’ said Jane. ‘And I thank you for everything you and the Association are doing. I just wanted to check on him...’ Jane trailed off.
‘As an individual, you understand, I would like to see your husband reunited with you immediately. I would even say that I am angry such a course has not been followed. As an operative of the Association, I understand that it is my duty to ensure that your husband is in a healthful and competent state before he is released. We will certainly keep you posted, Ms Franklin. You can teep me anytime...or call.’
The conversation ended and it was only afterwards that Jane realized that she had forgotten to ask if she could at least speak with her husband.
Chapter 21 tomorrow, same time, same place.
This resonates with me. It's interesting and serious stuff. I think I need learn it from the scratch. Will read your all episodes. Thanks.

What! Teep! Surely it's like a slavery to the association. This resembles the modern day slavery too much.
Good food for thought. Amazing story!
