Which video game would you like to see remade again? I would love to see a remake of Final Fantasy VI, and to see the mythical protagonists of the saga again in the new generations, especially Terra.
Golden Eye 007 Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask

The only one I've played of your picks is Ocarina of Time, and it's a masterpiece.

River City Ransom (NES)

Ha have you replayed it lately? It's still excellent and quite politically incorrect. I bet they would sanitize it 😅😬

No it's been forever since I've played it! Might need to find an emulator... such great times...

Folklore (PS3)
It came out with the release of the PS3 and seems to have been forgotten since. I guess along with that MGS4, which is also stuck on the PS3.
reply
I don't know any of those titles unfortunately, PS3 was the great forgotten for me of the 5 Sony consoles.

For years, my answer was "Saga Frontier," but we finally got that a couple of years back.
My first choice: The Phantasie RPG series from SSI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9AsIfhyK08
My super-obscure choice: An old TRS-80 shooter called Time Bandit whose Atari ST port was a blast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH3zPffUnz8

I don't know either of them, but the little I'm seeing of the second shooter you've shared I like it.

Super Spike V’Ball
Tones of funny hours I spent with it

Nothing because anything remade in this current late stage fiat culture is guaranteed to be inferior to the original.

Space invaders and Pac-Man.
Old is Gold.

Many memories associated with the old Pac-man games, a classic.

Original Phantasy Star

I remember playing the mythical Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast, I've still heard that people are still playing that game online today, isn't it wonderful?
reply
Is that a remake of the original?

Is it a remake of the original or a new story?

I really like the original game for sega master system. Reminds me of my youth. I replayed it recently on my kiddos Nintendo switch. I haven't played phantasy star 2 yet. I do have it as part of Sega Genesis classics on playstation 4. Started playing it with my son when we first got the game but he wasn't really into it. I would like to pick it up again but I would rather get it for the switch. I like the handheld system, I can just pick it up at night when everyone is sleeping.

I've long been hoping Bethesda would remake the entire Elder Scrolls saga since the games prior to Morrowind are almost unplayable.
It would be awesome to be able to play the entire series and have each game be a somewhat similar gameplay experience.
reply
I played Morrowind many years ago but none of the other elder scrolls games. My wife likes Skyrim.
reply
I've never played the first games in the series, so unplayable are they? It's hard to follow the story, the mechanics? What's the problem?
reply
I haven't made the required effort to get them running. They just aren't supported technically anymore, plus the mechanics and graphics are terrible.
My understanding is that the first one is mostly just an arena fighting game with a little bit of story, whereas the second one is pretty substantial and introduces a bunch of lore and has a pretty fun story.
Supposedly, the game world of The Elder Scrolls II is roughly the size of the UK and is the only one that covers the entire continent.
Then there are a bunch of other installments that are sort of tangential to the main sequence of games.
reply
I understand, from what you say it might be nice to bring them back to light, but with some more content in story for example, I hope I can see them come true as well, there are so many gems that could be remade again.
reply
Eventually, fans will manage to do this. There's a huge effort underway to recreate Oblivion in Skyrim's engine and previously Morrowind was recreated in Oblivion's engine.
reply
I don't want remakes. I want new stuff
reply
I’d buy a remaster of Diablo 1 in an instant.

Not really remade, but mobiloid with mod support.

Defender frightened me, but i kept going back for more, even though it's speed (for it's time), and intensity of attack, especially from mutants, meant it was just chewing up my pocket money - i got a lot further with Scramble (and Moonbuggy !), largely due to it's more sedate pace, and loved the Galaxians derivatives Gorf, and Phoenix.
Wireframes like Lunar Lander and greenscreen Battlezone were available in the cafe at a sports centre we used to visit for school sports, as well as the movie inspired Tron, which i only ever saw, and played, in those 2? school years - great fun, the best times.

I've never heard of that video game, for what you say it looks like a retro game, in which console was it released?
