So, I don't use google play. I don't have google play installed.

 which you install the .apk from the releases page to install.

Then you add amber to obtainium (You would paste this link: 

https://github.com/greenart7c3/Amber/releases

) and then not only will you be able to install it through obtainium, but obtainium will notify you of updates.
