Just got this email from Mash. I had fewer than 100 sats there from some random promotion, and had almost forgotten about them, but to their credit, had no issues sending the sats to another wallet.
We're emailing you today because we're shutting down the current version of Mash. All products & services will stop working on May 17th, 2024 at 9am Eastern.
Please remove any funds that you have on Mash products as they will not be accessible starting on May 17th 2024. You can send your funds to Lightning-enabled wallets including Cash App, Kraken, Zeus, Breeze, ZBD, Phoenix and others.
To access your funds for the user wallet, you can visit https://app.mash.com/wallet. If you had Mash integrated on your site, you can visit https://app.mash.com/earn/earnings to access your funds. These wallets are separate.
We appreciate all your support over the past few years and plan to be back soon after a reinvention of what we're building.
For any questions or comments you can email support@mash.com and we'll do our best to get back to you.
Thanks, The Mash team.
'mericans are the pussiest ever LOL I will repeat: US will be the last place on Earth that will adopt Bitcoin.

Think I just made a duplicate post, sucks to see, but wonder what their cooking up.

Yeah. Normally my radar is all "they're shutting down" with an announcement like this, but the fact they made it easy to remove funds suggests it might not be completely nefarious.

Pity that businesses are getting caught up in this money services/transmitter regulation, but yeah centering your service around being a custodial wallet without KYC wasn't going to last for very long.
I do think they offer a cool product, and the UX was slick, but I think they'd need to pivot into offering users the ablity to connect their own LN wallets, nodes with connected XPubs and mints, so they don't need to worry about the custody of funds.
I guess for the normies they could offer connections with Strikes API and just offload that drama to them instead

Not familiar with this wallet.

I'm not very proud to admit this one, but the reason I know about it is that someone on Nostr mentioned Panties for Bitcoin, and that page popped up with 69 free sats for Mash users. Going there now, they list a bunch of wallets as suggestions, but Mash isn't one of them.

Couldn't resist the 69. sats. Many such cases. Haha

I didn't know about this wallet until the time of publication in SN, but I guess I won't know it anymore, bye bye Mash
