Tarja ππ one of my favourite ladies in metal. She's got such gorgeous vocals.
Doro Pesch isn't someone I've come across before but she sounds great aswell. She's done really well to duet with such a powerhouse like tarja and not sound outclassed. I'm going to need to go and have a look at more of her stuff, she's great!
Both of these maidens of metal have a well deserved place in the Femmes Fatales Hall of Fame!
Also that guitar solo was π₯ real simple but really effective with the song.
She's got fantastic vocals. She sounds great! Cheers for the recommendation Darth! I really like her. I really liked it in a stripped back acoustic feel. And then bam here comes the orchestra and the energy! Awesome version. π₯
You too Annie, I'm off out to see some family today, possibly have a BBQ. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the bacon is sizzling. Hopefully we get to fire up the BBQ if the weather holds out!
Oooo that sounds fun, I still haven't got myself sorted out for the festivals I want to attend this year. There's more festivals than I have funds or time to attend π€£
If you can't find the post it's pinned to the home page of the ~Music Territory every day, along with the latest weekly aswell. (Feel good Fridays still up).
Priest never miss. That intro is pretty epic and just makes you immediately throw those horns up π€.
I hear what you're saying, it's really clever the little details they've used to create that sound in the percussion, it's subtle but it's really effective.
The guitar solo at 3:00~ is π₯π₯ awesome solo. I always love a bit of tapping.
This is a complete throwback! This was played on Kerrang loads in the 2000s. I haven't heard this song since about then. That's a proper blast from the past.
I've liked some T-Pain songs over the years, and I always enjoyed both this song and the Etta James song the tune is taken from, so I was happy to see this cover come out! He has a great voice for soul music.
And I'm in my mid-50s, and very aware of the tendency to lost interest in new music, but both my wife and I have made a concerted effort to pay attention to new stuff, and I find that I'm listening to tons of great bands these days that weren't around even a few years ago. But it does take effort, for the reasons the article notes.
One thing not mentioned in the article or other similar ones is that music, more than other media, is one we repeat. We might re-read a few books, re-watch some movies and tv shows two or three times, but we'll play a song we like dozens and hundreds of times. So the more new music we add to our internal queue, the less any one song gets replayed.
Thanks for the detailed response and I to get your opinion.
I and my wife have dissimilar taste for music. We can never listen to the same music sitting on the same couch. Like, I'm a lover of Imagine dragons but she loves Retros.
Because, music is what I deeply love, I want to stay connected. Why not we start a 'top songs of the week' or 'Latest Releases' or 'the best song in 10 years'? What do you say?
There's so many different "themed" posts we could do for sure. I love the idea of "Latest releases" I love discovering new music. "Top songs of the week" sounds great! As does "best in 10" these would make great additions to the growing weekly posts. But I sadly don't have the time to do them all. If you're interested in doing them, I fully back that idea. 0x and Bellzer already have bought great ideas in weekly posts to the territory and I'm all for it.
Where are these guys from his accent sounds maybe french? But I can't place it π€. I'm going to guess French because I think that's Tina S??? I remember her starting out playing covers on YouTube.
This was a really great find! That's going into the "liked" songs playlist for sure.
