As an A&M Grad the way the University sets up things like this he couldn't take it with him. The University is going to secure a lot of whatever is developed whether it be IP or some other sort of contract that will essentially lock it in with the University.
A&M has also been a pretty big research university player in the BTC space for a few years now. We had classes on blockchain when I was there (I graduated in 2020) and we did a ton of research on BTC and emissions showing it was not nearly as bad as people say. Riot Platforms was a huge fan of ours and would use our studies. We even had some students who dropped out I believe and launched a BTC company that harnesses the gas flaring at oil platforms, pipelines, and refineries to harness that energy into mining BTC. Essentially getting rid of the bad greenhouse gases and mining BTC.
Thats good to know. I just know foreign teachers like to take as much back with them as they can. Especially the chinese ones.
