I don't care what side of what border you come from. We are all one, and we have created this difference. Now, who am I to deny someone else any basic needs, including acknowledgement? Because with all that I've been through, still, I can't seem to make sense of all the hatred, and defensive behavior I witness. Like, it's okay to look down upon someone you've never met. Predisposed to prejudice minds feeding the violence, and while they're crying out for justice with little to no comeuppance, I question: why it is that I was born into the life that I live. It's circumstantial, I guess. And if luck plays into it, I don't buy it. Too many innocent souls have lost their lives because we are divided and blinded by the facade of borders, and colors, and social stature, and money, and what it is to be happy. We could just stop exploiting the world and each other, then we could nourish the bounty that is here, and develop a sustainable foundation to walk upon.
I mean, this is it, this is the new dawn. The civil unrest we breed in this nation of greed is bound to rise up and form a revolution. Indeed, we must, pull it together. Because what we do here, now, influences forever. We've got to watch ourselves and watch what we support with our living. Every decision that we make is backing one thing for another. Make sure you check the labels and look beyond the covers. The corporate world is running us as their minions in Babylon, and though their tactics may be strong, I believe that we can move on, if we choose to do so. Wake up and pay attention! What's the point in all this if we destroy the world that we live in? We've got to outgrow the system and start again, build upon these lessons we've learned.
How is it our right to close the borders to those who seek refuge? This nation was conceived upon tyranny and abuse. Stay and claim the land, and spill your blood if you dare question it. The trail of tears is hidden from our history books. "Manifest Destiny" - right? From sea to shining sea. Take what you will and forget your ethics, because it's the land of the free. The American Dream has blinded us with a false sense of fulfillment. Outsourcing millions of jobs and oppressing those who need them most, we're all sick from this illness, stuffing our minds and bellies with fillers and GMOs, while the government profits off the healthcare. Embedding our children into systems in which they spend their lives paying the debt, teaching materialism and "having to consume" rather than conscious living. It's a rat race for success. That word itself has lost its meaning, measured by individual wealth, instead of a thriving community.
It's not new to me, or you; we've just grown to accept it, raised to believe we're free, guarding our borders with weapons so that no immigrants may infringe upon our broadly deceptive privileges. We've forgotten how to properly process our thoughts, or perhaps we've never been taught. Our news is unclear water, our actions from soap operas. We're drawn towards drama, as our fear feeds off the propaganda. We fight wars we don't understand, and we build walls. Instead of social permaculture, we conform to monocrops, and mono-aged classrooms to keep us from asking questions. Because if we're all distracted with a short attention span, we won't even notice what's happened.
It's a peace movement, right? The passive-aggressive reactions, the "somebody else will fix it in time, it all be past us." But no, the time is now. And I tell myself there's still hope, and I'm here because I believe the need to awaken, has come beyond me contemplating these thoughts on my own. We empower each other. So this is me, giving you my all.
