I don't want to be a downer (man), but in a month or so we're all going to be in unchartered territory. The rewards will change and small zaps will likely vanish. It will be like venturing out of the solar system.
no, I just connected Alby with Blink API to test how it feels if I send or receive with Alby while the backend is blink, and it turned out quite smooth - I assumed it would be the same if SN could connect with Blink's API?
But the concerns about small zaps due to network fees are valid. But on the other hand, lightning was meant to support micropayments.
I personally have a private channel with SN but not sure how many will open one. The good thing is that you can use this private channel also for other things.
With the wallet changes our stacking habits will need to change. We all have enjoyed the ease of the SN custodial wallet. By "unchartered territory" I meant the added fees, complexity, and inconvenience of a non custodial zapping system. There will be a learning curve and it will probably require a change in zapping habits. In the long run, we'll be better off, but it might be a rocky road.
I don't think so, but I don't know whether it would affect its interaction with SN. One thing we have going for us is this site has a lot of really smart people who can come up with solutions/workarounds as issues come up.

I tested using Alby linked with Blink on desktop, it actually works quite nice.
cc @ek
Thanks for testing! How did you connect Alby to SN?

Ahh, makes sense. Will fix Alby support today.
Yes!
or Blink?
then I'm not so worrying! and @siggy47 can be relax about the unchartered territory! π€

Good. Do you need to create an account with Blink?
yes needed, so to get its API.
What do you mean by 'unchartered territory'?
With the wallet changes our stacking habits will need to change. We all have enjoyed the ease of the SN custodial wallet. I see. I haven't read up on when the wallet changes will take effect, but I'm guessing it'll be more than a month. I hope it works out with Alby!
Things are fluid right now will all custodial wallets. By the time the changes occur Alby might be shut down in the US, IMO.
The point you raise about Alby is valid and could indeed happen. I'm in Europe, do you think it could affect operations here?
I don't think so, but I don't know whether it would affect its interaction with SN. One thing we have going for us is this site has a lot of really smart people who can come up with solutions/workarounds as issues come up.
I think it's reasonable to assume that Europe will follow at some point
Yep, been thinking the same
I always liked the joy of getting the daily zaps. It helps retain new users I think.
it just more fun opening up SN each day with daily surprises and without the feeling of " pressured " to create content to get higher rank.
Good short summary.
I totally agree, it was very cool to have Daily Rewards. Now posts are more forced and not organic just to belong to a list
I agree for sure. Looks like a good compromise to have both!
Agreed, I hope the rewards page sticks around also.
yup i like the daily dopamine bit. better to hook the newbies

Amazingπ, Waiting for this! Thanks @k00b
Now lesser Sats, but better.. (Compared to Monthly)
I am missing rewards from march
Now @sn is back with old energy β‘
Daily is probably the best. But I'm looking forward to more experimentation with million sat madness-ish mini games on SN.
Thanks SN! The monthly rewards have been eating away at my satoshis :)
Thanks.
Earlier I liked this madness so much but this month it's kinda boring...
what !?

@Coinsreporter goes where the wind blows β€οΈ
Yes, you're right and I like that wind must blow, the direction is secondary.

@k00b might be able to shed some light on this.
This definitely caught my attention! Thanks for the breaking news
Great news.
Great!!!
Oh snap! It will be interesting to see how this affects people and posts after two months of MRM!
Lol the low time preference has spoken, give us the dopamine
I liked the rewards.
It's good if true
I have only been here for 18 days so I am looking forward to seeing what the daily rewards are all about!
