I bet these are all Belt and Road projects that were nothing short of traps to gain control of these countries...
I had a similar thought.
Remember how at first people thought "oh look at China try to help develop these countries" now we are looking at those loans going dear lord why did you sign this did you have a gun to your head?!
I don't know why anyone ever concludes that any government is doing something out of the goodness of their hearts.
