I recently made a post 'Better Writing Habits' and I was pleasantly surprised to receive so many thoughtful and helpful comments and responses. If you are looking for possible ways to enhance your writing, you may learn a thing or two by reading through the comments. Within the comments, however, the word Obsidian came up a couple of times. My first time reading through the comments I didn't really think much of it, but when I went back to reread and reply to the comments I realized that stackers were mentioning a tool / note taking app by the name of Obsidian. This got me curious so I immediately downloaded it, opened it up, and saw this blank page, and well my mind filled with question marks. But after watching a few YouTube tutorials, I got a better general understanding of what Obsidian is and how to get started on it.
Still only my second day using it, in fact I'm writing this out on Obsidian, but after watching the YouTube videos that explained how Obsidian is all about 'linking your thinking' and can potentially become your 'second brain', it has gotten me excited to use it consistently and learn more about how to bring out the potential of this tool.
I've learned the best way to learn is to just dive in head first and try it out for yourself, but I'm also very curious to learn how other stackers use Obsidian? Did you know of Obsidian before reading this post? How do you get the most out of it? What are some cool tips and tricks you know of? Any other similar tools / apps you use that you have found useful?
