The other day, I watched Quentin Tarantino's film 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.' While I wouldn't call myself a hardcore fan of Tarantino, I have seen a few of his films such as 'Kill Bill,' 'Django Unchained,' and 'The Hateful Eight.' What I appreciate about his films is that they go beyond merely satisfying my endorphins and dopamine; they also provoke thought during and after the movie. Recently, novels like 'Anthem' by Ayn Rand and 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley have had a similar effect, prompting contemplation and questioning, ultimately expanding my consciousness. Although I don't read fiction often, I believe it can be an effective tool for breaking out of one's matrix at times. However, it's worth noting that many works of fiction also serve to keep you confined within the matrix as well.
Any films or books that have had a similar effect on you? And any recommendations?
