Video Description

Did I get ripped off and scammed with my solar panels? According to the comments on my recent solar panel video, where I compared a Tesla Solar Roof to my more modular solar panel system, I surely did get scammed and ripped off. … but did I? The critical comments really boiled down to 5 basic issues, so let’s take a closer look at those one by one. Are solar panels worth it or are they a scam ... and did I get ripped off?
Isnt green energy a scam in general?
reply
Not that is is just a scam, but it uses more energy than it will ever produce. And half the resourses used are not recyclable.
reply
I don't know that we can lump all "green energy" together like that. There is a divide, though, between what might make sense for an individual and what is actually economical.
The reason for that gap is the enormous amount of subsidies going towards green energy.
However, the video makes the counterpoint that there are also lots of unnecessary regulatory costs that make home solar more expensive.
reply
I think if they need subsidies, that shows how inefficient they actually are.
reply
I agree, but that doesn't mean it's a scam at the individual level.
reply
I think it is more the idea that they want to buy into. Not the actual results.
reply
That's often the case, but there are plenty of scenarios where rooftop solar has a positive ROI.
reply
You have to remember though, it isnt just the rooftop solar panels though. You need everything else to maintain it. Wires, batteries, inverters, water....many of these things arent very green.
What if my solar panels could mine Bitcoin?
reply
You'd probably need a solar array the size of Canada to mine a bitcoin.
reply
Deal. You get the entire Canadian landscape for your solar farm and I get 1 bitcoin.

Omg at work two weeks ago we had a "group" present to us the need for space-based solar. For half a trillion dollars they want to build this HUGE solar array in orbit and then BEAM the energy back to earth.... Half a trillion dollars is all that they need....
reply
Got it: orbital energy weapons confirmed.
reply
Somehow it was going to be converted to microwave energy to beam back but honestly, I was confused cause wouldn't that heat up the earth? It was the dumbest presentation I have ever seen esp since they were not even sure it would work. Give me the Rods of God if I am going to throw money at stupid space projects
