Contra Joe Biden, this is not about pay “discrimination” or equity or a nefarious plot by team owners to cheat women.
The irony of this whole dumb conversation is that if all these people that claim to be so angry about it would buy tickets to WNBA games, buy gear, watch the games and go nuts like real sports fans to they would command higher salaries. If these people that own NBA teams could pay the dudes commanding the crazy salaries less money they would do it.
But, I'm assuming people think. This is why I would never engage with such people in a conversation about a topic like this.

What is sad to me about this is those that are sincere and aren't just virtue signaling are actually harming their cause. In the early days of the NFL for example players made very little money. In many entertainment professions those early performers lay the ground work for those that follow. Leaning into this "its not fair" message isn't a winning strategy. I don't watch much sports at all though I was obsessed in my younger years. This is the kind of stuff that led to my lack of interest. Of course I'm referring to the male dominated sports.

You're right, but I think they sort of know that they don't have a viable entertainment product, so they're lashing out.

I was telling my wife about how people are now being called racist for watching women's basketball, when they had previously been called sexist for not watching it.
Welcome to the dumbest timeline.

The WNBA season is only what 3 or 4 months long. Plus they never turned a profit. Tickets to their games are dirt cheap and they still can’t fill an arena. All this can change with a good basketball product and a transcendent super star
What makes it tough for women’s basketball ball is that the men’s game is a better product.

That's right and, to push it a little further, there's a hard cap on how good a WNBA player can be. If any woman were ever good enough to make an NBA roster, she'd go there and make 10x as much money. The NBA is not the MNBA, after all.
