Listening to that song with a certain unlicensed sample yesterday got me in the mood for some AC/DC! When pulling the music video up this morning I realized they had remastered and upscaled the video to 4k, making it even more obvious how badly the audio and video are synced!
It would be very nice if some of them did, although some of the artists are pretty respectful of the original material and make some amazing songs.
I like Weird Al's parody of that song, but I can't say I'm that familiar with a lot of the other remixes and things. Are they sampling it in everything now?
Feels like (damn I'm about to sound really old) nothing is original these days. Everything is reused and resampled or sometimes just direct ripoffs.
Now I love a cover and I like to hear a different artists interpretation of the same song. But when they take that song, change the lyrics and the essence of the song and make something else. For me that's ripping off the original.
Ah, I understand now. I've noticed that in music too, also in movies and TV shows. It feels at times like the entire industry is catering to the widest possible audience rather than trying to do something interesting and letting the people come. I know there are people that are trying new things, writing their own songs, etc, but I feel like they get drowned out by everyone else.
I'm the same way normally, but I do like to get the videos every now and then. It may be just a artistic choice, on many of the videos with Bon he's not even trying to look like he's singing. Even though I know they're almost never actually performing the song in the video, it kind of takes me out of it a bit.
