This is the problem that will keep the most amount of people away from Bitcoin that other blockchains don't possess. I'm not wrong.

At ~$1,000,000 a block am I the only one to think that this is a healthy fee structure? Whether it's runes or inscriptions or "financial" transactions this seems to me at face value to be something we will hopefully and likely see for a long time into the future, whether we are ready now or not with L2s no time like the present to improve them

High fee cannot last long, waiting for rune speculators to lose money and leave.

did high fees stop people from using ethereum in the past?
if i recall, it was viewed as a badge of honor that people were willing to pay such high fees back in 2021

until something more centralized and cheaper came along. the madness of all of this is that there are so many better ways to do this. Its just torching value and utility for the sake of it. After literally billions of sats burned on high fees in the last few blocks, what has been made?
7000 morons bought the string "SATOSHI•NAKAMOTO"
3000 morons bought the string "MEME•ECONOMICS"
None of this matters. its all horseshit, and the couple of thousands of idiots and rubes that fell for their stupid shitcoinery again is astounding. It achieves nothing excepting making things hard for a time for people trying to do real shit.

I think it will subside just like inscriptions.

since the spammers got started, we really have only had one quiet period. Running LN infra in 2023 wasn't fun for periods of spikes, and if this is a taste of what is to come, we need to be massively rethinking things. Using Bitcoin does not seem compatible with whatever incentives the spammers are dealing out to attack it -- at least in the short term.

In the near term, tools combining LN - Liquid are going to be everyones best choice.
