I've been thinking about a feasible alternative to a classical home, which is a thought that mostly stems from not wanting to be financially enslaved by a fancy heap of bricks for the better part of my life.
I've been looking into both tiny houses which can be combined with a car, as well as tiny houses which are simply a (very) small unit on a plot of land.
Both of the above options are, IMHO, very expensive in relation to what you actually get for the money: € 80K++ for a decent tiny house / unit? And then the price for a plot of land comes on top of the latter.
Therefore, I've been thinking about simply building one myself; a thought I quickly distanced myself from, as I'd have to not only adhere to very specific building codes, but would also have to get specific permits as well.
I'm currently thinking about simply getting an old bus or army truck, and convert that into a tiny home myself.
It wouldn't have to be serviceable as a car per se, either, as I'd simply place it somewhere on a plot of land.
With a vehicle, that's my thought, I wouldn't need to adhere to any (or most) building codes, and most likely wouldn't even need any fancy permits.
Anyone who has experience with the above or anything similar? I'd like to hear about it!
