This izakaya we went to had a space that was built in between the first and second floors. It allowed us to observe the locals eat, drink and make merry while affording us some privacy. Food in Japan tantalised not just our taste buds, but also our imagination. Sweet potatoes 🍠 with vanilla ice cream, anyone?
