While yeah that stuff needs to go there is a huge issue with replacing some of it esp. in fire fighting foam. The government and industry have tried to find a replacement but for extremely hot fires there isn’t a replacement hence the forever chemical part of it

I forgot to add that the chemicals are also what makes fire fighters ya know fire retardant to such a high degree. Essentially the uniforms/protection will not be replaced until an alt is found because we don’t want to kill them. These chemicals are also world wide and one of the underlying issues is okay so we stop but Latin America, Asian, Africa, etc. don’t. They essentially will continue to poison not only their water but everyone else’s. Suitable replacements must be found and that’s a lot easier said than done.
Same thing with actually removing these chemicals. Sounds great on paper but for some their isn’t a large scale way to fix so 🤷🏼‍♂️
