Mock Undisciplined
This is the second edition of a series of posts heading into the NFL draft later this month.
Last week you guys mocked me (49ers) and this week @Undisciplined has graciously stepped up to be mocked, so your mission should you choose to accept it is a mock draft of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Mock Draft parameters: minimum 5 rounds. You can make one trade if you want but you can't trade any 2025 picks to move up.
Positions of need: OT, QB, CB1, OG, RB
You can use any mock draft simulator you want but I recommend https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/mock-draft-simulator https://www.profootballnetwork.com/mockdraft (you don't need an account to use these- ads are annoying though)
Screenshot your mock in the comments. Best Raiders mock submitted today, as determined by @Undisciplined, gets 1000 sats (from me).
Hoping we get a few good ones.
Sats for all, GR

That is a baller draft! Musta borrowed a little capital from next year but that is a brilliant draft. Have +200 from me.
reply
Thank you kindly

Musta borrowed a little capital from next year
If so, it was worth it.
reply
Oh for sure. Spent what maybe a future 3rd? Totally worth it.
reply
I honestly wish I knew if I did trade 2025s
reply
If you didn't, I don't know how you got those trades through and if you got them done without spending next years stuff (honestly even with next year's stuff they're πŸ”₯) then wow 🀯
reply
Sometimes you do get wild offers on that site. I've gotten offers accepted where I strictly traded lower picks for higher.
reply
Yeah, I usually preferred PFTs tool but now they want you to have a premium subscription to do more than 3 rounds and any trades. PFN I find tends to outwardly reject my offers more often than not. I haven't tried the other one. Perhaps I do that one next.
Oh yeah @grayruby I am happy to be mocked next should you be looking for volunteers πŸ˜‰
This is impressive
reply
Bold strategy going so heavy on the offensive line. It just might pay off.
reply
I really liked the emphasis on Oline. Penix needs to stay clean, there's some real injury concerns, don't want him getting hit once. Build a brick wall at Oline if you're going with penix.
reply
Penix needs to stay clean
Exactly, and even if Penix isn't ready to start and we roll with AOC, his only real problem is that he's a statue. Give him a clean pocket and I think he'll be really good.
reply
Yeah AOC is a pocket passer, you gotta give him pocket time else you're asking a duck to climb a tree. Penixs ability to improvise and extend plays with his legs are great, but he also needs to be kept upright to do that well.
reply
Ducks can't climb trees?
reply
Ever seen a duck in a tree?
reply
Yes, but I don't think it climbed there.
gotta give him pocket time else you're asking a duck to climb a tree
I'm definitely stealing that.
reply
You can also have "expecting a fish to ride a bike" if you like ;) I got loads of stupid metaphors.
reply
No, Aidan trying to evade pressure is much more of a duck trying to climb a tree.
Is that a British thing?
reply
Not exactly... It's more just a pub thing...
On closer inspection though, I think you may be disqualified for trading future draft compensation.
If you want the king's coin, you've got to play the king's song.
reply
Did I? I thought I just traded back, my mistake.
reply
Oh, ok. Nice trade, then.
If @grayruby (who has a serious conflict of interest, btw) let's it stand, then this is my pick for the winning draft.
Alt probably won't be there, but I like the idea of taking the best available tackle at 13. Penix at 44 is the dream scenario. Then, picking up an elite guard prospect is my next biggest priority.
What put you over the top was taking Van Pran right after already taking a guard. I don't really like our center and getting an upgrade would be great.
reply
I love this draft but I don’t know how he got picks 100 and 139 by dropping back one spot from 77 to 78 even if he used the 6th as 7th rounders he must have used something from next year. Probably didn’t notice it in the offer. I give this one an honourable mention and will zap it 200 sats but I think you should select another one since we don’t really know if this one was within the rules.
reply
I'll try to pay better attention, I honestly have no clue πŸ˜…
reply
Alt wasn't there in the 1st mock I did, I was surprised I got him and Penix. I took Van Pran in the 49ers mock as well
reply
Welp, took a stab at it. Got lucky with a solid trade offer that still let me grab some decent folks (dropped one spot, got two more picks for the middle rounds and a nice one next year). Did not have Alt as an option, alas (he went 7th in mine).
reply
Fuaga though ain't no slouch at all. That's a decent draft, good job πŸ‘Š
reply
Thanks! Definitely did not hesitate with that one.
reply
Fuaga's who we've got our eyes on, but we're looking more at Penix than Nix.
reply
Fuaga is rapidly becoming a serious draft crush of mine. Like I love me some Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neill... But living a dream where we can rest one of the every now and again and get fuaga to step in keeping people fresh... Oooo that's spicy
reply
Nicely done!
I intended to stick and pick by that point but, the jets came knocking and I still got the guy I was going to take.
Joe alt falling to 13... I'd originally intended on trading back and going hard in round 2 then sticking and picking after that. But Joe alt at 13. I couldn't pass.
reply
You have been working on this for a week haven't you? Haha
reply
Nah, but I mocked a couple in my.lunch break today. I really really wanted to wait on QB til the 3rd. Rattler fell all the way to the 4th in this draft. But I felt Penix at 44 was the call. Trippled down on Oline though, didn't get any WR speedsters but that's what UDFAs are for ;) getting zinter late at guard was wonderful and nuge as a development center prospect with guard and center flexibility. Yeah, penix staying clean in that pocket.
reply
That's a great haul.
reply
I was fairly pleased with it. If I could have wheeled and dealed myself a couple spots back in the mid rounds again but I'm only allowed the 1 trade 😜, I'd have picked up a few extra 6s or 7s and taken late round fliers at WR. But that's what UDFAs are for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
reply
Congratulations! You are the winner of the Raiders Mock Draft Challenge. See @grayruby for your payment.
Best tackle available + Penix is what I was looking for above all else, but I also like getting James and Zinter where you landed them.
reply
Sometimes the board just breaks your way. Cheers bud, I enjoyed doing it. πŸ‘Š

zapped. congrats

Started out so promising but I didn't find any value for a position of need at 77 but best trade I could get was 77 and 229 for 86 and 189. Worked out ok because I snagged Corum but I don't feel like I got good value on that trade and I wanted to address your OG sooner.
Almost didn't do this draft because the 49ers offered you an absolute haul for pick 13 and I was so curious who they were trying to trade up for I almost took it and restarted.
reply
Not trying to break the rules. This one doesn't count but it is a work of art and needs to be shared with the world.
Traded back from 13 with Washington. Pick 13 for picks 36, 40, 67, 139. Picked up 181 points in draft value (equivalent to an extra 3rd round pick) in that trade.
reply
That is really nice. The right side of our line is a mess (actually it's non-existent), so getting Beebe in the 2nd isn't that much worse than getting one of the tackles at 13.
reply
That's absolutely πŸ”₯
reply
I like McMahon as late as you got him but he is a developmental guy.
Watts is being slept on, getting him at 223 🀌
reply
I'm not dinging you for not having Alt available, taking the best tackle was the right idea, but Public managed to get Penix and then a CB in the 3rd.

Here's one I just did with no trades. Big board rank in parentheses:
  • OT Alt (9) at 13
  • QB Penix (31) at 44
  • CB Melton (58) at 77
  • OG Mahogany (94) at 112
  • RB Irving (114) at 148
  • S Oladipo (158) at 208
  • DE Johnson (177) at 223
  • LB Knight (179) at 229
That board really fell to me.
reply
Damn those first four picks are about as good as you can get in terms of value.
reply
Bucky Irving is also exactly the kind of back we're looking for.
reply
Don't know him but great name.
reply
Very fast and good in the passing game is the scouting report.
reply
I will probably jump on SN during the first round of the draft. Maybe we could get a little live draft chat going like we did occasionally for TNF, SNF and MNF.
