Breaking their own record for the longest playoff drought in NHL history!

Before all this losing I used to be a rabid hockey fan. I would watch all 82 games and buy the jerseys of my favorite players and then my organization let both Chris Dury and Danny Breire walk in one offseason. Since then the organization has never been the same.

Then came the tank years and of course we get the 2nd pick in McDavid’s draft and drafted Jack Eichel who was definitely great but not the generational talent that McDavid is. But even so with Jack, Ryan O’Reilly, and Sam Rehinhaet it seemed like the beginning of a new core that will be contenders year in and year out like Boston Bruins who I hate more in jealousy because they always win and are good while my team stinks!

But the Organization completely screwed that up. Hired the wrong coaches. Never figured out goalie and completely disrespected Jack when he wanted to get a procedure on his neck that the team doctors rejected. So he asks for a trade gets the procedure and wins a cup with the EXPANSION team Vegas!! Like really WTF 🤬!! Oh and I failed to mention both Ryan wins a cup in Nashville and Sam just had a 50+ goal season with the panthers.

And I just ask myself what in the world happened. After missing the playoffs last year by one point and all the goals we scored I was extremely excited for this season. Get a few more saves tight up in the D zone we should easily make the playoffs. But nope hockey is such a complex sport. It’s not like women’s hoops where talent and size will dominate the competition. In hockey to truly have to build a balance team and give 100% effort every night or you will lose. A bad bounce to a bad team can be the deciding goal in a game that you lose. Which clearly shined through this season with Buffalo. They are such a young team and the inconsistent play I watched all season sort of made me annoyed. Players making bad plays in the neutral zone. Our highest payed player Jeff Skinner making $9 million a year is completely useless if he’s not scoring goals. Some of the plays where I see he’s clearly dogging it would make me furious. But hey this why this organization has missed the playoffs again.

I know this rant is full of grammar and spelling errors but I just needed to vent and get this off my chest. Hopefully next season buffalo will be better but I’m just tired of all this losing.
