I was in 311 mood today while my newly sanded floor did not come up the way I thought it would :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjfT2joaJxs

Appropriate track for an unfortunate outcome. Always tomorrow for better results.

used to really love 311 at one time growing up

Every once in a while you come across a cover that borders on being a new song. The version of Wig Wam Bam that The Donnas recorded changes the lyrics of the verses completely, saving only the musical structure and the chorus from the original song by Sweet. I've had both versions going through my head recently.
reply
This is cool. I've not heard this before, my only real exposure to sweet is ballroom blitz... Which is an absolute banger.
reply
Oh yeah, a true classic (Tia Carrare in Wayne's World is the first version of it I heard).
Have you never heard "Fox on the Run?" It feels like it was everywhere when Guardians of the Galaxy 2 came out.
reply
Yeah, but sadly I have to admit shamefully, I was introduced to it via guardians 2.
reply
A lot of folks probably were, and that's one of the thing I like about good soundtracks (and James Gunn loves his). I discovered a lot of nifty stuff thanks to Peacemaker.
As for "Fox," The Regrettes (back when they had their original lineup) did a nifty cover:

He's one of my favorite artists! This song is from his first album after he lost his wife to suicide, and for a while afterward a lot of his songs reflected that. If I'm remembering it correctly, he met her while she was a stewardess, so I wouldn't be surprised if this song has a lot of extra meaning to it.
reply
That's a horrible thing to have had to go through 😞. I lost a friend to suicide, I feel for the guy. That understanding give the song a very new perspective and dimension.
reply
It certainly is. It would be terrible to have something like that happen.

I don't speak any Japanese, but this track is πŸ”₯ really really cool.

The original by him is also very good! Does @cryotosensei recognize this?

TΓ©lΓ©phone (French pronunciation: [telefΙ”n]) was a French rock band formed in 1976. Their first, self-titled album was released in 1977; by the end of the decade they were one of the biggest French rock bands in the world, opening shows for The Rolling Stones in Paris, Quebec, the United States and Japan. The band split in 1986 for personal reasons. They have sold around 10 million albums to date, a record still unbeaten for a French rock band.
