Does receiving forwarded sats do anything in the trust or ranking algorithms?
Should it?

It doesn't currently.
Good question. :) It definitely implies some kind of link between the OP and the fwd or the content and the fwd.
We only measure zap trust currently. No one has a post trust or comment trust, but those are planned. I have a bunch of backlog ranking/trust/sorting stuff I want to do, but it's all a tier 2 priority.

I've thought about this before, but this time I decided to ask. This is perhaps a political question, but wouldn't it be fairer if ranking points were also forwarded? cc: @k00b

Very late counterpoint: Zapping a post is a way of rewarding the content of that post, which comes from the creator. The creator can, of course, choose to do whatever they like with the monetary reward, but should not be able to forward my trust.

I think it really depends on the situation. There are cases where it makes sense and others where it doesn't. The ideal would be for this to be configurable in each post. That way it would be up to the OP.
