PRAYER OF THE DAY - Acts 3:19

Dear God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, we turn to You on this new day with humility and gratitude. We recognize that we are fallible and often stray from Your path, but today, we cry out for Your mercy and forgiveness.

As Acts 3:19 teaches us, we ask that we truly repent of our sins and convert so that our sins may be blotted out. Enable us, O Lord, to abandon everything that separates us from You and turn to Your perfect will.

May this day that begins, we be able to live in alignment with Your teachings of love, compassion and justice. Give us the discernment to recognize opportunities to serve and love our neighbors as ourselves.

Strengthen us, O God, to face the challenges that may arise, trusting in Your guidance and protection. May we be instruments of Your peace and hope in this needy world.

In the name of all faith traditions, we recognize Your sovereignty and join together in prayer, asking for Your will to be done in our lives and throughout the Earth.

Amen.

Acts 3:19 is part of Peter's sermon after the healing of a lame man at the temple gate. Peter urges people to repent of their sins and convert, so that their sins may be erased. This passage emphasizes the importance of genuine repentance as part of the path to reconciliation with God and spiritual restoration.
