Am I the only one who regrets stacking fuck ton of small utxo to random opendime?

could be a viable L2 so long as you find a willing buyer in meat space.

true. I love the device just wish I understood UTXO management and the reality of fees earlier

To be honest, I never really understood the concept behind this. Using usb sticks in the same way as using dollar bills? A bit expensive then, isn’t it? One can give the sticks as gifts then, but I think there are other ways.
Btw, you mean this, right? ;)

yes this is what I am talking about. I have probably bought 15+ of these over the years. They are a really fun little device. This gripe is more about myself rather than the device itself.

What motivated you for buying them? A good deal? Btw., you still have to “load” it with sats, right? 🙃

Yeah, I don't get it either: a physical item one can trade digital money with? Why?.

Pretty cute way to orange pill people. I gave one to each of my cousins

Yes, that’s probably the only use case I can imagine - give as a gift to someone.

I think it's semi-annoying it doesn't have a proper XPUB so Sparrow wallet can't view the balance.
Not sure why you'd be worried now though, fees only 8 sats on mempool. How many UTXOs are we talking?

My point is I don't want to unseal it. But I will have to at some point soon.

Do you have a Cold Card? You could buy one with the sats and then consolidate on the Cold Card.

Why did you do it? I am not very familiar with the use case opendime intends to solve

I did it because it was fun at the time. I printed out the deposit address and put it on my refrigerator. I would walk by and smash buy to that address and stupid shit like that. I put one on a necklace for my wife and put a couple hundred bucks on it, I told her it would be the most expensive piece of jewelry she has one day yada yada

This situation is akin to having kids, ain't it?
Getting started is fun, once they're here, not so fun.
Or in other words: starting to stack every now-and-then is fun; de-cluttering the metric fuck-ton of stupid UTXO's, not so fun

No time like the present to consolidate!

On the contrary, there may indeed be. I'd make the transaction with a bottom barrel fee, going it gets picked up. RBF in a few weeks or whatever if not
