I think this is a strong point in favor of daily rewards rather than monthly. If the strategy you pursue isn't working out, you can change it or decide it's not worth it with less effort.

I'm just really confused, and I expended a lot of effort for very little (re: none) reward other than the zaps received on the articles I did post. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with how my posts were received, but having someone say, "I'm gonna give you X if you do Y". And then you do that Y, and instead of X you get 0, it just hits wrong.
