I'm using a Netgear Nighthawk that I flashed with DD-WRT. I don't use my router for wireguard, but it appears it's supported. Once it's set up I've found it to be fairly user friendly, although you would want to be comfortable logging in and changing settings if needed.

Someone like Flashrouters or similar may be a good, although more expensive, option for an easy trouble free setup. They have pre-flashed routers set up for various VPN services.
