There's an old abductio ad absurdum in economics about putting a goat right between two stacks of hay. The absurd conclusion is that the goat would never be able to make up its mind about which stack to walk to.

My dog does it with a lot of aggression. He won't eat for a few minutes and won't let anyone come close to the bowls. Now I think it's a common habit in dogs.
