I am amazed that @anita doesn't know about the existence of Electrum LN wallet for mobile. That works perfectly in those poor connection environment. Electrum is a self-custodial LN node too, with capabilities of opening trampoline channels and also normal private (unannounced) channels. You have even integrated swap and coin control.
