I think this community has quite a few science fiction readers on here.
I want to ask the ultimate question....what did you think of DV Dune part 1 and 2?
I read the original book from Frank Herbert, so l knew what to expect going into it.
I thought Dune Part 1 was fine, but l want tk focus on Dune Part 2.
Did anyone feel that it was rushed?
I felt that the whole ark where he was learning to become a fremen was too quick. To tell you the truth, l felt the first 3/4ths of the movie was slow, and there was a lot of time wasted. I didnt particularily feel like Feyds fight scene was all that important, and all the scenes with Princess Irulan were irrelevant. During the buildup, l felt a lot of time was wasted and the time could have been used with more important characters like the spacing guild. Then during the last 1/4th, it was so rushed. Everything happened in a blur, and the he just kills Feyd and becomes emperor. I realize this is how it is supposed to happen, but what was the bs with the houses not accepting him as emperor? Also, why didnt they bother to explain Chanis position? She always knew Paul would have to get married to strengthen his position. She ran away looking like she was betrayed, but it was not like that at all. Anyway, l did enjoy the movie, l thought DV did a great job and l am hoping the next part will be better. I will say though, the book was 21 million times more enjoyable. Anyone else have any thoughts on this movie?
