Yesterday I posted about MY favorite lightning wallet. Unfortunately, the timing couldn't have been worse. 4 AM on a Saturday morning ET. So I'm relinking that here in case you missed it. #476795
Now. Let's discuss below.
My list is as follows:
- ZEUS
- Phoenix
- Alby
You go.
I don't have a "favorite" one. I use almost all. Why?
Choosing the right BTC/LN walletChoosing the right BTC/LN wallet
We've seen many users that are stuck with using one or max two wallet apps and also choosing them because X and Y "recommend" them and NOT for the specific situation of use and features they provide.
This is a wrong approach. This is a wrong approach.
Choose your wallets based on your own usage and situation you encounter using your BTC. Some aspects to be taken in consideration:
Here I wrote many guides about BTC-LN wallets:
Learn how to use the method of "3 levels stash", as I describe it in this guide Think like a bank, not just be a bank... A. HODL = your "central bank" with most of your stash, your reserve bank, barely moving it, onchain B. CACHE = your "commercial bank" with medium size amounts, for redistributing to HODL and SPEND, onchain and LN, nodes channels etc C. SPEND = your spending pockets, with small amounts, enough to cover your regular spending, LN, with funding source from your "CACHE bank".
Once you know better the app, help other new users to use it. Devs usually are busy with coding and they get bored with people complaining all the time about same things (mostly because users do not read manuals, FAQs, do not investigate more how to use the app). Bother the dev only when is a real issue or bug, that the community couldn't help you too much or many other users encounter the same situation with no exit.
In conclusion... you the new Bitcoin user, are just like this baby, trying to climb the ladder of all apps. You must pass through all, test them all, know them better and stick with those that fit better YOUR use case. https://postimg.cc/RJJ8C63L
Now you just need to add Aqua to the stair meme for Bell_curve
Bell_curve can stick his Aqua in his butt... I am talking about serious LN wallets here not multicrapto apps. I made already 2 exceptions: Blink and Valet that are also displaying crap "stablesats".
wow darthy strike again with a master piece !
In no particular order:
Phoenix
Blue Wallet and Phoenix for the phone, Alby and Stacker News for Desktop.
People still use Blue Wallet for lightning? Interesting. Phoenix is just amazing. It just works.
Blue Wallet is nice because it can import any kind of wallet.
For example you can use an Alby wallet, or you can import a watch only wallet, etc.
Bluewallet implemented LDK node, but is still experimental feature and can be activated.
Blixt
Great project and great dev @hampus
Unfortunately living in China, 4pm Saturday for me is 4am ET Saturday. So sometimes I'll post at odd times ππ€¦π»ββοΈ
Upto now I have only used Wallet of Satoshi and it's doing good for me with my limited use cases. Yes, I have done a little bit walk around at Zeus and phoenix and I am trying to figure out which one will be better for me.
Just use both lol. Zeus and Phoenix are both fantastic and different. HMU on telegram if you need help @expatriotic
