It's Saturday, thus it is poll day.
Very exciting March Madness tournament thus far with many upsets, as our survivor pool can attest to. March Madness seems to be one of the sporting events similar to the Super Bowl, World Cup and Olympics that can capture the attention of people who don't typically follow sports.
Of the sporting events that seem to transcend beyond sports which is your favourite?

Olympics27.3%
Super Bowl54.5%

I vote for the SB but as a football fan does that count?

I went the other way. The Super Bowl is my favorite, but I picked Olympics, because sometimes it gets me interested in sports that I don't normally watch.

I am wondering about your AMA thesis. A hidden stacker jumped over both scoresby and I today. I know there was a big AMA yesterday with a ton of zaps, comments and 50k boost. I wonder if it is the host. I think posts that get tens of thousands of sats get a huge boost in rankings. Look at davidw he is still living large off that one 200k post.
reply
That wouldn't surprise me. The comments in those are pretty active, too, so I think they end up with decent comment scores and comment zapping scores.
I actually have the month's top posts up right now and davidw has two 100k posts, which isn't quite as good as one 200k. That's probably why siggy is probably ahead of him.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but natalia dropped a hint that she's in the top 10 today. She deleted it as soon as I pointed it out, of course.

I really don't understand how this all works. Look at the hot posts. KR's post about urban planning is ahead of btc_bellzer cover post with half the sats and KRs post is just me trolling him and then him trolling me back. Now I zapped his comment 1k sats so maybe that is why? But it doesn't make sense.

Hot is based on your trust scores with people, so it's different for everyone. Top is based on the global trust scores, so it should be the same for everyone.
Still, your point stands. The zaps and comment counts jump around like crazy.

Maybe she was the one that jumped scoresby and I. She has been posting more recently whereas before she was mostly commenting. Hmmm
reply
I don't think anyone knows how much she's zapping content, either. Her big posts were a few days ago, so my guess is that she's been near the top the whole time. Her and 0xbitcoiner behave somewhat similarly, so it would make sense if they were near each other.
You probably got jumped by that AMA.

I like this line of thinking. I would probably pick super bowl just because it is my favourite of these events but Olympics is probably the one event that gets me watching sports I don't watch. Even the world cup I don't really pay attention to until the semis and finals. March Madness is great but I always watch basketball, just not college basketball, so I wouldn't say it is enticing me to do anything totally out of my norm.

I think it still counts.

I picked the world cup, because I don't normally watch football, but will watch the world cup matches as much as possible. My friends and I would also meet up and watch the championship match together, ever since the 2002 world cup.
Also, an off topic note, I don't know how I missed this game winner by Kyrie Irving from last Sunday's game against the Nuggets. I guess you just miss things when you have to drive 8 to 10 hours a day. But here I am, jaw dropped watching it on my phone for the first time during my lunch break at work. In case any of you also missed this magic, here it is.

It was an incredible shot. Are you watching Kansas vs Gonzaga? Great game so far.

I'm at work. Was just scrolling through YouTube while eating my lunch. Getting back to work now. I might catch some March Madness action tomorrow on my day off, if my little one don't force me to play with him.

You can play while you watch the game. Just need a ball and a box for a net and you guys can have your own game.
