Let the Games begin
Congrats to @Undisciplined for winning the first four pick 'em with 3/4 of correct. He barely beat out @StillStackinAfterAllTheseYears on the tiebreaker so impressive performance for both of them.
Let's see if their "skills" carry over to the survivor pool.
The first round games have now begun and we have already had one elimination as @stacksatstoday did not get a first round pick in in time. Sorry friend but you have to be quick on the draw in the wild west.
That leaves 11 participants and a prize pool currently over 10k sats. After the first round ends Friday night I will post the games for the second round as we will have a very quick turnaround to get our picks in for round 2 games starting Saturday afternoon.
Hope everyone enjoys the games today and best of luck to the teams you picked. I am hopeful a couple of us will make it all the way to championship game.
Sats for all, GR
I have added 2k sats from this post to the survivor pool prize as people have been zapping it a lot and talking about the tournament. Though not an official pool post I thought it only right that most of the sats should go to the pool as my daily post doesn’t usually get more than 1k sats.
Prize currently at 12163 sats

I respect that this territory takes a harsh view on justice.
For the In-Season Tournament Survivor Pool, which also had quick turnarounds, I auto picked the worst possible option for those who didn't get their pick in, as well as disqualifying them from tie-breakers.
reply
I might be a bit more lenient on the quick turnarounds if picks are a just a little late and for games that haven't started yet but I would prefer not to have to make judgement calls so hopefully everyone gets them in in time. We had a day and a half to make picks for first round and I sent out a reminder to those who hadn't made picks yet yesterday afternoon so I think that was fair.

Rules were explicit
I agree about not having to make a judgement call

i was automatically eliminated from million sat madness, so by default i can’t do any worse in this contest 😂
jayhawks win by 13 today 😤

Can't do worse than you and I both did with the MLB playoff contest picking the Jays to go all the way. Ouch still hurts.

Ouch. Didn't even get past the first round. Texas Tech lost by quite a bit too. NCAA picks are hard...
reply
You're not the only one. Half the pool got axed the first day.

Opposing player (Oakland) makes 10 3-pointers in the game I pick.
4 other players have done it in all of tournament history.
What a frustrating game.

Kentucky lost?

Wow. I watched the Texas game but then my wife changed the channel when I wasn't paying attention. Haha.

As a (possibly the only one here) pro wrestling fan, a weird offshoot of the tournament is that instead of getting AEW shows on Wednesdays, Friday, and Saturday, the first two aired back-to-back on Wednesday, and the third is skipping this week. So (since I always watch non-PPV wrestling the next day), I've got wrestling riches tonight, and a desert on the weekend.

I don't watch much wrestling anymore but I heard finally the Rock has come back.
