This just came out in the newly shared e-mails. In 2009 Satoshi shared this. Was it to protect Bitcoin from not being a security? Thoughts?

'Investment' implies 'expectation of income or profit over time' according to GPT.
So being cautious early on was important ethically and legally as it wouldn't be cool to characterize it as a vehicle for gains given the uncertainty, possibility of fork or failure.

Satoshi is not saying it is not an investment. This was about promotion. The reference is to the hammer of the Fed. regulators. If you call it an investment you have to register it and representatives, etc.
