Ronan Keating - Lovin' Each DayRonan Keating - Lovin' Each Day
Classic Ronan, brilliant tracks βοΈβοΈβοΈ

view on www.youtube.comYou keep bringing up Ronan Keating in lots of places 0b1, you wouldn't happen to have a poster on the wall or had one at one time perhaps?
Keating was easily the best one to come out of Boyzone.
I must have to admit, I do have a soft spot for our Ronan, that first solo album of his was played to death in my house. I've just recently started to listen to it again. Great pop songs
Yaknow who else was an Irish National Treasure??
Sir Terry Wogan. RIP π«‘
Haha, I am so close to putting up the Floral Dance
Let's do it.
view on www.youtube.comHere's Irish royalty, the late great Terry Wogan with the not very Irish Floral Dance
I have to confess, I used to listen to Terry's dulcet tones on bbc Radio2 many years ago - way before I was "old enough" to listen to that station (and Terry) π€£π€£
I grew up on BBC R2. It was always on in the house. Mum had the radio going permanently, if her or dad wasn't playing a specific record then R2 was on. I grew up on Wogan, Steve Wright etc. let's face it R2 has always just been the better station.
Love a bit of Ronan! And they way he sings in his Irish accent.
Well, good night everyone. It's been fun so far but it's time for me to turn in for the night. Thanks for everything you've all posted so far and the banter. I hope those of you who are still up, in different times zones, will continue the good craic.
Here's my last trad Irish song for the night - The Wild Colonial Boy
view on www.youtube.comYou killed it with this thread today. Great job! π

The Commitments - Dark End of the StreetThe Commitments - Dark End of the Street
Andrew Strong, what a voice, just incredible
view on www.youtube.comOh man, this film!! Fantastic. Andrew is amazing. I NEED to watch this film again. Haven't seen it in years! Thanks for posting.
Yes, I said the same thing, got to find it now. Not on Netflix, damn.
I'm not sure I've ever seen this π€. But that's fantastic.
It's gritty and hilarious but be prepared for the next level Irish swearing ππ«£ππ€£
Discovered this band the old-fashioned way: Went to pick up medical weed for my wife, this band's version of "Drunken Sailor" was playing on the sound system, and one Shazam later, I knew who it was and was following them.
view on www.youtube.comhehe brilliant, love this! thanks for posting. I can see it's gonna be a fun day in Music Territory
Just catching up. Looks like it's been a real party here!
Brilliant, love this version
No Sweat - Heart and SoulNo Sweat - Heart and Soul
'90's Irish AOR, only one album from this great rock band. Trudged through the snow to see these boys in concert, great night, played the entire album.
view on www.youtube.comAbsolutely love this! Brilliant! thanks for sharing
That main riff... Sounds sooo much like "Lick it up" by Kiss.
I'd not heard No Sweat before and I do love my 80s hair metal, so I'm glad you've sent them my way π
UI hope you enjoy their one and only album π₯ (link below).
They were one of those blink and you'll miss them bands of the early '90s that were just starting out as the whole rock scene was about to go grunge, Kiss of the gypsy was another that would go the same way. Not big enough to weather the changing musical tide. Funnily enough, one Mr Joe Elliot was producer for the No Sweat album.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9XgPL7BWBo
Damn, shame they went by the wayside... Joe Elliot as in the Joe Elliot!! Wow that's a claim to fame and a half.
Yes, the one and the same. He was living in Ireland by that time (tax reasons), so he would have more than likely come across them on the local scene.
Father Ted - My Lovely HorseFather Ted - My Lovely Horse
One of the greatest Irish songs ever
view on www.youtube.comThis episode of Father Ted is brilliant. Of course, making fun of the the fact that Ireland kept winning the Eurovision and didn't want to keep footing the bill.
view on www.youtube.comIt always brings me back to the iconic year when Johnny Logan won in 1987 with Hold Me Now. Everyone in our household was sitting on the edge our our seats that year!
Eurovision is just such a laugh. Sure it's political and a total mess... But it's just crazy fun. I'll never forget Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah. Just insanely hilarious. https://youtu.be/gAh9NRGNhUU?si=oFprg6zvVWHD7-rt
that is hilarious π€£π€£π€£ absolutely love Father Ted!
I know it's clichΓ© but it's also really good. Happy St Patricks to those who celebrate!
Cliche or not, it's the Murphys, and not playing them on this day would feel wrong.
I just couldn't let it slip by. Had to do it.
I'm on a quest to find the best Galway Girl cover!! Post them below...I'm on a quest to find the best Galway Girl cover!! Post them below...
FIDDLER'S GREEN - THE GALWAY GIRL
view on www.youtube.comI also like this version - especially the yeehahs
view on www.youtube.comOoo that's really fun aswell.
Fiddlers green will be tough to beat, they do such an amazing job of this track.
I agree, it's such a great rendition, isn't it! It's a German band as well!
Irishness and rebelliousness go hand in hand

The Ferryman - Ceol
view on www.youtube.comImma go out on a limb here and say, you really really enjoy irish folk music π
It's in the blood man π
House of Pain's "Jump Around" is a St. Patrick's Day anthem
Filmed at the 1992 St Patrickβs Day Parade in New York, House of Pain's "Jump Around" is still the most popular Irish American rap video ever.
https://youtu.be/XhzpxjuwZy0?si=M8jSuCHkmUDGLrL_
I didn't realise this was filmed at a standstill Ps parade!! Really cool fact.
No idea how auto correct came up with standstill ... When all I typed was St Ps. But now I look silly π

view on youtu.beI've never come across these before... But they give me half Dropkick Murphy's half Alestorm and a sprinkling of bullets and octane (if you remember them)
If not here's Pirates so you know what I mean. But they're from St Louis not Ireland. https://youtu.be/_1sNRmguTIE?si=U9hYg8i0w-bYtRlr
Wanted to also link Alestorm but they're from Perth in Scotland.

view on www.youtube.comHaha π the back and forth between the female vocals and the male vocals really screamed "the pouges" to me. Really fun track and a fun performance of it too.
It's been such a long time since I've heard flogging Molly. That really takes me back. Great track.

view on www.youtube.comNot even a secret 90s crush. I will loudly exclaim to anyone who listen that these absolute babes were a huge crush of mine in the 90s. And I'm not even remotely ashamed of embarrassed. They need a spot in the Femmes Fatales Hall of Fame.
90s Irish babes, for sure! One the best bands to come out of Ireland. Defo femmes fatale territory.
I was waiting to see if anyone posted them today... but not yet.. so I just had to before I close in the for the night. I won't be staying up late haha
In honour of their 6 Nations Championship Victory.
